Governmental & Public Affairs

The JAINA Government Affairs Committee is established to support JAINA’s engagement with governmental, civic, and public policy matters that impact the Jain community and JAINA’s organizational interests. The committee will work to strengthen relationships with elected officials, government agencies, interfaith organizations, and community partners while promoting awareness of Jain values, culture, and contributions.

Key responsibilities include:

• Monitoring government policies, legislation, and public issues relevant to the Jain community and JAINA
• Supporting civic engagement, advocacy, and public awareness initiatives
• Building and maintaining relationships with government officials, agencies, and community organizations
• Representing JAINA in public policy, interfaith, and community affairs when appropriate
• Coordinating responses to issues affecting religious freedom, nonprofit operations, community safety, and social concerns
• Encouraging community participation in civic and public service activities
• Supporting educational initiatives that promote understanding of Jain principles and values
• Collaborating with JAINA leadership, councils, and committees on strategic public affairs initiatives

The committee will operate in a nonpartisan manner and work to advance the interests, visibility, and long-term engagement of the Jain community through responsible advocacy, collaboration, and public service.
